24 Aug 2007 - Orientation Day and Mentor-Mentee Meeting

24 Aug 2007 was a busy day for the CTL freshmen. In the morning, they participated the faculty and departmental orientation, then in the afternoon, the first Mentor-Mentee Meeting.

All student mentors gathered outside Lt-18 and took a grand remarkable group photo. Then the team split and carried out different tasks, e.g. fascilitating the departmental orientation, preparing the venue for lunch.

The mentors and mentee had lunch together after the orientation in the canteen. While having lunch, we chatted casually. Yummy food provided by the school canteen.

The Mentor Mentee Meeting started at three and, after the short warm welcoming speech by Mr. Kenneth Au, the coordinating teacher of the Mentoring Scheme, we introduced the facilities and electronic medium through different keynotes. Some mentors talked about the wonderful life of being an intern or an exchange student. We shared our joy and happiness with the mentees and hope they will love CityU as much as we do.

After the keynotes, we led the mentee to different classrooms for group discussion. We answered questions raised by our mentees, and hope we cleared their doubts.

We strongly believe that through the Mentor-mentee meeting, our mentees can grow and develop to a whole person, and love their new environment, CityU, as much as we do.
